Cllr Nicky Gynn
West Park
Nicky’s Story –
My working life has taken me from a ledger clerk in a textile factory, to managing an alternative education provision for disaffected young people. During this time I supported children, young people and their families to overcome various barriers to education , as well as helping them to achieve the qualifications that they needed to be able to move on to the training of their choice.
Following retirement, I spent 18months volunteering for The Red Cross, working in Accident and Emergency, and supporting elderly people who had been discharged from hospital. I also spent 18 months helping children who had experienced domestic violence.
I am passionate about the environment and people’s quality of life. I believe that everyone should have access to education and support services. I believe that people have the right to live in a clean and safe environment , where they can access public transport, and live free from harassment.
